Introduction to LaTeX: How to prepare professional documents LaTeX is a standard editing tool in many STEM fields, including OR, statistics, applied mathematics and many engineering disciplines. It is also used as a primary tool for preparing scientific and other professional documents in STEM academic journals. LaTeX can be used to prepare a wide variety of documents such as journal article, book chapter, newsletter, poster, presentation, report, theses/dissertation, CV/resume, and etc. Knowing LaTeX is a skill that is essential for all graduate students, and can really make an undergrad stand-out. The software is already available on the computers of the lab 3205, and lab 3322. Also, you can bring your laptop, and install the software using the following link: https://www.latex-project.org/get/ Different integrated documentation environment (IDE) are developed to make writing LaTeX easier and more comfortable. One is TeXnicCenter which is installed on the PCs of lab 3322 and the other useful one is TeXstudio. Please download and install whichever you think works better for you. If you have further questions please feel free to contact nasrin@auburn.edu. Thanks and War Eagle! INFORMS Student Chapter
